Retirement Living at ICare Links View

First Class Retirement Living at ICare Links View

Getting older is something that comes to us all if we live long enough! Making sure that you get the most out of your later life is really important and that’s just what you can do at ICare Links View.

Here, you can enjoy being independent with first class retirement living. It’s retirement with care when you need it – but without the high costs of a Care Home. You’ve worked hard all of your life to acquire the trappings that come with advancing years. It’s time to enjoy the fruits of those labours!

We went to take a look around in the summer of 2020. Come on in and take a look!

Better Alternative to a Care Home

Residents love living at Links View, it’s a much better alternative to either a care home or being at home in the community. It really is the best of both worlds. The coronavirus pandemic showed just how good this world is.

Throughout the Covid crisis, residents enjoyed peace and quiet and lived their life in their own homes. But they’ve also been safe and looked after with medication and shopping, delicious meals and people to call on. You can’t say better than that!

Most of us are familiar with the idea of retirement living, and it’s certainly popular here on the Fylde Coast.

Just one the great advantages of life at Links View is the sense of community. There’s always something happening – with visitors, parties and celebrations. So even if you find it awkward to get out and about you’ll not feel isolated. But at the end of the day you can close your own front door to peace and quiet and life just as you like it!

On a bright and sunny Halloween morning, Links View residents were joined by Lynn and Bev from Just Good Friends. They’re a local friendship group who provide friendship, interests and things to do for people all over the Fylde Coast.

Song sheets handed out and everyone comfortably in their chairs the sing-a-long began. Visit Fylde Coast went along and what an entertaining morning that was! A good old ‘technical hitch’ with the music provided money-can’t-buy comedy moments, with everyone (including us) enjoying a really good laugh. Some of the singing was OK but let’s just say we’d never form a choir that anyone would pay to see. But goodness me was it good fun!

A great place to live

This sort of gathering and morning of fun is the kind of thing that you can regularly expect if you move to Links View Independent Living. It’s not a care home – it’s your home. Take a look around –

Your own apartment is your private space, and the extended building yours to share with other residents. It’s where you’re comfortable and safe and can spend your time with company when you want to.

Links View is a happy place. According to the residents, the staff are kind, friendly and helpful and can’t do enough for everyone. The place itself is ideal when you get to a certain time of life – it’s safe and people feel looked after but live independently.

One resident said “I moved here 15 months ago from Carlton near Poulton. It’s the best thing that I’ve ever done. I feel really safe here.”

  • Your own money in the bank
  • True independent living
  • 24/7 property management
  • Full range of facilities

No need to tie your money up in property

Do you really want to invest all of your assets into your new home, AND pay a hefty monthly fee on top? Many of the other mature living apartments ask you to do just that. But Links View don’t!

When you’ve worked hard all your life and invested in your own home, you want to be able to enjoy that capital when you get older. And at ICare Links View you can do just that.

A Much More affordable Alternative…

Been looking around? Then you’ll know that other retirement living+ premises are charging easily £2000+ per month. That makes a saving of 50%+ for the same, if not more comprehensive service, at Links View.

Meanwhile, you could be paying around £950 a WEEK for a care home offering the same standard of facilities. Of course, Links View isn’t a care home – but you might call it a halfway house.

The retirement living+ concept at Links View is the only such facility in St Annes where you can bring in your own carers and the property is managed 24/7. It’s true independent living and not just sheltered housing.

  • There’s no upfront, lump-sum payment for the purchase of your new apartment.
  • All you pay is a very affordable, monthly rental fee for a very nice apartment (and your normal utility bills of course).

The money released from the sale of your home becomes your cash nest egg. Keep your savings to hand and use it to pay for the nicer things in life and enjoy your retirement!

In this luxurious St Annes development all of your day to day hassles are taken care of. Property, maintenance and security issues are all sorted out as part of the package, while you enjoy your life as you choose, in the company of friends and neighbours or in the privacy of your own luxury apartment.

Special care and attention isn’t limited to the design of Links View and its grounds. It extends to every aspect of the development, from your apartment, through the wide hallways and the beautifully decorated communal areas, to the furniture, furnishings and the meals served in the restaurant.

Links View is not a residential care home, and it’s a far cry from traditional retirement living. It’s an opportunity to live in your own home for as long as you want to, with access to professional, tailored care if and when the need arises.

Look Around

Visit Fylde Coast went along on a frosty, sunny day in January to have a look around. Can you remember Victor Kyam in the old Remington shaver adverts, saying ‘I loved it so much I bought the company’? Well we were all set to move in, it’s so nice! Take a look at a few of our photos –

Reasons to Retire to St Annes…

The Fylde Coast is a popular retirement destination for many people, and St Annes is popular for a new life next to the sea. It’s a brilliant quality of life at the coast. It’s a flat area with good public transport links and so much to see and take part in with vibrant community life. When you find all of the shops, cafes, bars and restaurants you’ll wonder how you ever had time to go to work!

When you’re considering the upheaval of moving home, or even moving county, wouldn’t it make sense to choose a place where you can stay for as long as possible?

…or just have a few days away!

When you are elderly and have care needs, it doesn’t mean that you don’t want to go on holiday! Take advantage of the fresh, sea air, enjoy the seaside and be looked after with a short stay in these luxurious apartments.

Does the thought of a week in a care home fill you with dread? If you need some assistance with day to day tasks, and you’d really like a holiday, you’ll be welcome at ICare Links View. A few weeks stay (or months) is also an ideal way to try Links View out before you make the final commitment to move in.
