Sir David Attenborough Arrives at Madame Tussauds Blackpool

Beloved national treasure, biologist and broadcaster, Sir David Attenborough, has been immortalised in wax at Madame Tussauds Blackpool!

Recognising the 97-year-old’s on-screen animal-antics, Sir David’s brand new lifelike figure is joined by exotic wildlife! He’s been unveiled at the famous attraction with a Burmese python, tegu lizard, geko, and tarantula!

Sir David is known for creating and narrating award-winning BBC wildlife films. He’s sporting the classic Attenborough look – a blue short-sleeved shirt, chinos, brown shoes and a watch. You can visit his double in a brand new area created by Madame Tussauds Blackpool especially for the figure.

Janine Marshall is Head of Operations at Madame Tussauds Blackpool. She said: “From humans to animals, everyone loves the legend that’s Sir David Attenborough. It’s befitting to unveil Sir David’s new lifelike figure in honour of his globe-trotting adventures and multiple BBC programmes. A true British icon, his unmistakable smooth voice and natural delivery means he continues to inspire curiosity and awe for the natural world.”

The new figure, carefully created by the talented team, features every single detail. It takes a team of 25 artists to work on one wax figure, spending a total of 800 hours collectively. This includes: 350 hours to sculpt the figure, 187 hours to insert a head of hair and 30 hours to make a set of teeth.

Waltz Along to the Strictly Come Dancing Zone, at Madame Tussauds Blackpool

If you’re missing the hugely popular TV show, don’t forget that the Strictly Come Dancing experience is open at Madame Tussauds Blackpool. Fans of all ages can enjoy some Strictly sparkle! Perfect for anyone who’s never managed to get randomly selected to receive tickets for the live show at the Blackpool Tower Ballroom.

Meet wax figures of the show’s presenters, Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman. AND you’ve got the chance to lift a replica glitter ball trophy, bust a move on a Strictly dance floor and even raise a score paddle from behind a re-created Strictly judges’ desk.

The first area leads you along a celebrity-worthy red carpet. Then you get the chance to take a Strictly Come Dancing opening credits-style picture of you and your friends.

Meet Craig Revel Horwood at Madame Tussauds

When you dance along to the Strictly Zone at Madame Tussauds Blackpool you’ll meet Craig Revel Horwood. He’s the Australian-British dancer, choreographer and theatre director, made famous by judging on Strictly.

• West End credits include ‘Spend Spend Spend’ and ‘My One and Only’, both of which gained Laurence Olivier Award nominations for Best Choreography.
• Craig Revel Horwood has become known and imitated for his locutions, which often include exaggeratedly lengthened vowels, including: “It was a complete dahnce di-sah-ster, dahling”
