Yorkshire Fisheries, Topping Street, Blackpool

Yorkshire Fisheries

It’s one of the most frequently talked about chippies in Blackpool and we’ve visited more than once! Come inside and take a look at Yorkshire Fisheries…

Yorkshire Fisheries

It was April 2022 when we did our first Fish and Chip review – and hadn’t ever been to Yorkshire Fisheries before then! Our first vlog was on 29 April 2022 and we liked it so much that we reviewed it again! It’s family owned and run and the fish and chips are DELICIOUS!

This traditional chippy is popular with visitors but also a place the locals use. Head inland along Church Street, past the front of the Winter Gardens. Take your second left onto Topping Street and walk almost as far as Iceland – on the corner of Deansgate. Yorkshire Fisheries is on your left, almost at the end of the block.

Indoors or Outdoors

There are two entrances to Yorkshire Fisheries. The right-hand store is a standard take-away counter against the frying range. Online ordering and delivery is also available.

The left-hand shop is the eat-in fish and chip restaurant with seating for about 80 people. A couple of steps at the side of the counter give access to plenty of seating, in fixed tables of four or two.

Disabled Access

There’s a tiny step to get into the cafe at the lower level where people with limited mobility can find an accessible table. Bathroom facilities are located on the upper level.

Overall

As you can see from the video, we visited on a cold wintery day. The food was freshly cooked to order and piping hot. Having asked for a small portion the quantity of food was just right and it didn’t take long for it all to disappear!

White fish with a crispy batter and fluffy chips, served with a generous portion of peas. Not at all greasy, no funny after taste – and didn’t leave indigestion behind afterwards!

Overall impressions are excellent, and we will be returning again. It certainly maintains its place at the top of the Visit Fylde Coast list of go-to places to eat in Blackpool.
