Lancashire Jackets Blackpool

Lancashire Jackets Blackpool

Jacket potatoes seem to be the next culinary big-thing in the world of fast food and takeaways. Tasty and a healthier option you can see why! We went to try out the new kid on the block, Lancashire Jackets Blackpool – at Cedar Square in the town centre.

Lancashire Jackets opened on 31 March 2025 and is open 7 days a week, serving traditionally baked jacket potatoes. Traditional fillings, daily specials and new jacket potato wedges.

Lancashire Jackets Blackpool

This brand new Blackpool spud shop is located behind a traditional-green shop front at Cedar Square in the pedestrianised heart of Blackpool. With tables and chairs inside you can eat in – or take your food away. There’s plenty of seating outside with benches right outside the door or the public picnic benches in front of the Church.

Staff are friendly and helpful and there’s a warm atmosphere. It’s clean and well presented with menus clearly displayed and, of course, that important hot potato oven in centre stage!

Disabled Access

There’s level access at the front of the store and dining space on the same level, making it accessible for easy access. Customer toilets are located on the ground floor.

Overall

The menu is based around the traditional jacket potato, with a wide variety of fillings to choose from. Go traditional with butter and a sprinkle of salt or spice it up with curry and chilli. The choice is yours! Potatoes are soft and fluffy and toppings are tasty. All served in a recyclable card container with clear lid, and cutlery.

The day that I visited I chose tuna crunch – a tasty combination of tuna, spring onion, red and green sweet pepper and mayonnaise. Since the weather was warm and sunny it was very pleasant eating it outdoors in St John’s Square, with a busker playing in the background!
