In total, an impressive three of the ten hotels in the top 20 for the North West that also feature in the top 50 hotels in the UK are from Blackpool.

The top five hotels are B&Bs, which is a good representation of top-rated accommodation in the North West, making B&Bs the best-rated type of accommodation in the region.

Steve and Elaine Fazakerley, owners of The Arthington Guest House said: “We have owned The Arthington Guest House on St Chads Road in Blackpool since 2006 and have sunk our heart and soul into it. It has not been easy and we have had a lot of setbacks. But we enjoy what we do and hope that comes across to our guests. It is great to be recognised not just for us but for the Blackpool Guest house community. Many thanks to all our guests for their support and to trivago for this award.”

With over 190 million ratings gathered from over 30 websites worldwide, trivago have created a comprehensive, fair and reliable index of hotel ratings: the trivago Rating Index (tRI). They use an algorithm to aggregate the ratings, which provides a dependable and impartial score, whether a hotel has 400 reviews or 4,000.

Based on a tried-and-true mathematical approach, the index is unbiased, clear and transparent. With daily updates, it is perhaps the most up-to-date rating index for hotels available. For the trivago Top Hotel Awards, hotels with availability and at least 400 reviews were considered.

Travellers Choice Awards – Jan 15

A range of accredited Blackpool hotels were honoured as part of the 2015 Travellers Choice Awards.

The Doric on Queen’s Promenade, the Premier Inn on Yeadon Way, the Big Blue Hotel at Blackpool Pleasure Beach and Clifton Court Hotel on Clifton Drive were all highly ranked in the family category in the list compiled by TripAdvisor.

The Doric is described as “fabulous” while the Premier Inn is described as “very good value for money” while The Big Blue Hotel is said to be “marvellous”. One customer said The Clifton Court Hotel was “a little gem”.

The Kenley and Cherry Tree House Hotel, meanwhile, were rated in the top 25 B&Bs.

There was a significant increase in the number of overnight stays in Blackpool in 2015 thanks to huge improvements made to our attractions, our Promenade and our tourism offer in general. We’re determined to continue that improvement.
